How to use it
Open your VTT file
Choose or drop the VTT file, or several at once. It is read by this page and never uploaded.
Choose the layout
Join captions into paragraphs for reading, or add timestamps to keep one line per caption.
Copy or download the text
Copy the transcript in one click or download it as a TXT file.
Automatic captions without the repeats
Automatic VTT captions often show the same line twice in a row. When a caption repeats the one before it, it appears only once in the text. Voice and styling tags are removed, and encoded characters such as & become normal text.
Meeting and lecture transcripts
Meeting and lecture recordings often come with a VTT file. Converting it gives you searchable notes; tick Add timestamps to find each moment in the recording again. Check names and numbers against the recording, because automatic captions can get them wrong.
Questions and answers
Are speaker names kept?
Names written as WebVTT voice tags are removed with the tags. Names typed into the caption text, such as JOHN:, stay unless you remove them with the subtitle cleaner.
Can I keep timestamps?
Yes. Tick Add timestamps to start each line with its time.
Is my meeting transcript uploaded?
No. The file is read and converted in your browser and never leaves your device.
