Where DFXP files come from
DFXP is an XML caption format based on TTML. Caption services often deliver it, and streaming services use it or a close relative. Files from these sources often time captions in ticks, very small units declared at the top of the file, which the converter reads automatically.
After converting
Check the preview: captions keep their order, timing and line breaks, and italic text stays italic. Colors, positions and background boxes defined in the DFXP file are not part of SRT and are removed.
Questions and answers
Why does my DFXP file show times like 120000000t?
Those are ticks. The file declares how many ticks make one second, often 10,000,000, and the converter turns them into normal times.
Can I get a VTT file instead?
Yes. Choose VTT in the format list on this page before downloading.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The XML is read and converted inside your browser.
