How to use it
Open your SBV file
Choose or drop the SBV file, or several at once. It is read by this page and never uploaded.
Check the VTT preview
VTT is already selected. Check the preview, or pick another format if you need one.
Download the VTT file
Download the converted file, or all of them as a ZIP when you opened several.
What changes from SBV to VTT
The file gets a WEBVTT header, and every time is written with hours, minutes, seconds and milliseconds, such as 00:00:01.000. Line breaks, including YouTube’s [br] marks, become real line breaks. Characters such as & and < are encoded so that browsers show them as text.
Using the captions on your site
Upload the .vtt file next to your video and add it with a track element, serving it from the same website as the page. Video platforms and learning systems that accept captions usually take the file as it is.
